Winter CaretakerRMBL is hiring a winter caretaker (a single person or a couple) for Oct. 1, 2017-May 30, 2018. Responsibilities include helping with maintaining and organizing a winter hut, weekly data collection from a weather station, weekly town trips, occasional shoveling, and opening/closing cabins. We provide a cabin, a food allowance, use of a vehicle during town trips, and pay hourly for work. The site is snowed in from mid-November to mid-May, approximately 3 miles from the nearest trailhead. Caretakers must be comfortable skiing and living in the backcountry. The cabin has electricity, wood stove, internet, and plumbing. Please note: 1. Pets are not allowed; 2. Transportation is by skiing. Snowmobiles are only used once or twice a winter to move heavy items; 3. There is a second set of caretakers onsite and travel is allowed, as long as one set of caretakers is present.   • No pets are allowed at RMBL at any time.
  • The RMBL campus is smoke-free, and there is no smoking allowed within the RMBL fenceline. Smoking is allowed on the county road only.
