Youth Program InstructorsWe are now accepting applications for enthusiastic nature and science educators to teach our summer day camps in Gothic from June 3, 2019 to August 9, 2019. Internship for Graduate Students in EducationDr. Jill Anderson at the University of Georgia is searching for 2 enthusiastic grad students in education to participate in field research and high school field ecology course work from late July to mid August 2019 (3 weeks) in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Field Research Assistant Position in Plant Evolutionary Ecology at RMBLThe Campbell lab at the University of California at Irvine (http://faculty.sites.uci.edu/campbelllab/) is seeking a field research assistant to join our team in plant evolutionary ecology for summer 2019. The work will be based at the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory (http://www.rmbl.org/) in Colorado. The assistant will help with data collection of vegetative, physiological, and floral traits for long-term projects. These projects are aimed at testing whether plant populations can adapt quickly enough to environmental change to avoid extinction. The fieldwork can be strenuous and sometimes involves extensive hiking at high elevations and work during inclement weather. In addition to field and laboratory work, the assistant is expected to be an active participant in the RMBL research community. Applicants should have some college level coursework in ecology. Those with prior laboratory or fieldwork experience with plants are especially encouraged to apply.
The full-time position is available from early June to the end of August, with exact start and end dates flexible. Compensation includes station fees and housing at RMBL, and a salary.
