The
Rocky Mountain Biological Lab (RMBL)
is a high-altitude field station whose
principal purpose is to provide quality
research and teaching facilities for
biologists and biology students of
all disciplines who can benefit professionally
and intellectually from studying in
the Gunnison Basin. An important further
purpose of the Laboratory is to promote
the understanding and protection of
the high-altitude ecosystems of Colorado
and the watershed of the Gunnison
River through the professional activity
of its members.
The
Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory
(RMBL) was founded in 1928 to facilitate
research and education in the biological
sciences. Each year approximately
150 students and scientists from around
the world spend a summer in Gothic,
Colorado.
A
fund was established by the friends
and family of Keith as a memorial
to him and his deep love of nature.

The
intent is to provide a scholarship
(or multiple scholarships) for a student
to take classes at the Rocky Mountain
Biological Laboratory, in perpetuity.
The fund can also be used to help
students who have spent time at the
RMBL and want to return, either as
a student, a research assistant, or
as a first-year graduate student.
There are two criteria for awarding
the scholarship. First, it should
be used to help students who, for
whatever reason, might not otherwise
be able to attend the RMBL. Second,
it should be awarded to students for
whom a summer at the RMBL will be
particularly meaningful.
