Vehicles, Parking and Buses
Gothic Parking, Vehicle, and Bus Information for 2012:
RMBL has limited parking in 2012. The large parking lot on the east side of Gothic Road will be available in the beginning of July. There will be assigned parking lots in Gothic and parked cars will need to have permits on display in each of the parking lots. Parking on the county road in Gothic will not be available for RMBL residents or day-commuters.
Parking permits in Gothic are mandatory and need to be bought per vehicle.
- Parking permits cost $5.00/day per vehicle for resident RMBL Scientists, and Visiting Scientists, with a maximum charge of $300 for the summer.
- Parking permits for resident undergraduate students, Research Assistants, and Guests are mandatory and cost $7.50/day per vehicle, with a maximum charge of $450 for the summer.
- Staff parking fees will be instituted during summer 2012, and the rates are as described on this memo.
- Scientists owning vehicles through RMBL are required to pay parking fees in Gothic.
- Parking fees will be in effect between June 1 and August 24, 2012; parking is free outside these dates but vehicles must still be parked in assigned locations only.
Two types of parking permits will be issued:
1) Resident permit – for those living in Gothic. Rates are as described above.
2) Commuter permit – for those commuting to/from Gothic daily.
- Rates are $5.00/day for Scientists and Visiting Scientists, with a maximum charge of $215 for the summer.
- The rate is $7.50/day for undergraduate students, Research Assistants, and Guests, with a maximum charge of $320 for the summer.
NOTE: Both types of parking permits are NOT valid along Gothic Road – parking on Gothic Road is for the general public only. (Not for Gothic residents or day-commuters)
Parking assignments will be made by the RMBL Administration office. Please contact laurel AT rmbl.org to make reservations. Parking assignments will be made on a first-come, first-served basis. A parking permit will be issued and must be displayed on your vehicle’s dashboard while in Gothic. Parking permits may be transferred between individuals; for example, between members of a carpool group.

Gothic residents or day-commuters parking vehicles illegally along Gothic Road may have RMBL privileges withdrawn.
FREE PARKING:
There will be free parking available in Mt. Crested Butte, at the Gothic Rd. trailhead.
FREE BUS:
Mountain Express free bus service is available 7 days a week between June 4 and Aug. 10 with at 2-3 runs each day. The Summer 2012 bus Schedule is posted here.
