Alumni Updates

Daniel Erickson (2005-2011) finished up his M.S. in Molecular Ecology at Vanderbilt 2 years ago and is now volunteering in Dr. James Nieh’s lab at UC San Diego working on potential treatments for a microsporidian disease affecting honey bees partially responsible for Colony Collapse Disorder.

Emily Morris (2005-2006) is working as the Informal Science Education Coordinator at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, AZ. She runs programs including summer camp, homeschool, and preschool and is 2/3 of the way through her Master's in Environmental Education and Interpretation at University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point.

Jennifer Smith (1992-2001, 2012) updated us that she will be graduating from Humboldt State University with a B.S. in wildlife biology. This summer she’ll be working for David Ausband researching the effects of human-caused mortalities on wolf packs in central Idaho and Yellowstone. She will be backpacking to various wolf rendezvous sites to survey and collect scat for genetic samples.
