Gothic Weather
Today's Weather, Tuesday: clearing and cool overnight as low dips to near freezing. Clouds start to build late morning.
Notes on the pictures: #1 Baldy Mountain (right) from the back of Long Basin. #2 First a young male Moose in March and now two young females as it seems that they are making a move into this area. #3 Snow is about gone as seen her of Avery Mountain, then to the left 'Long Basin', beginning of Pica Basin and Dorothy Peak. #4 So-called 'Long Basin' is the basin just north of the peak of Avery, with still some snow at the upper end.

Other Notes
The least snow ever in a January is 35 cm (14") in 1980. Through Jan. 26 this January had just 25 cm (10") but then late month snow meant this record is not to be broken, a good thing. --February then missed being the driest one on record by just 8 cm (3"). --There were only 7 clear or partly cloudy days in December. --The September through November snowfall for this winter has the least snowfall in that time period on record.
