Becoming cloudy with limited daytime warming with rain early, and then again late, afternoon. Monday: mostly cloudy and warm early with the low mid 40's and moving into the low 60's. Only a light shower during the night and very brief slower late afternoon despite generally being cloudy. Tuesday: mostly cloudy and warm as the low in in the 40's for the third day in a row. Light off and on rain during the night before gradual morning clearing to become clear and mild. Wednesday: partly cloudy and cooler early with variable cloudy cover while windy and mild. Thursday: clear and cool with the low below freezing for the first time since mid June. Scattered clouds and warming nicely to the mid 60's. Friday: clear and warming up to the mid 60's with some late day wind. Saturday: clear and cool early with the low just under freezing but warming nicely to the upper 60's.

Sunday clear and warm with the low mid 30's and high upper 60's. Monday clear and warm with the low upper 30's and high upper 60's. Tuesday partly cloudy and warm with the low upper 30's and high upper 60's with afternoon clouds and a chance for showers.
Other Notes: From June 06 August 03 there had been only 1.20" of rain. There was then 2.17" from August 03 up until sunset August 16 before another dry spell. ---Last December, January and February all had over 100" of snowfall. --At sunset Feb. 15 there had been measurable snow in 25 of the previous 27 days, and 37 of the previous 43 days.
Ski and Road Conditions
September 07. No skiing now but soon it will start up again.
This information is on the quality of skiing but does not represent the safety in doing so. Check on avalanche conditions before skiing in back country areas.
The road to Gothic is open. It is in good shape though bumpy in places. Road is open into Schofield Park.
Current Avalanche Conditions
July 12: No hazard.
This information is for the immediate area around Gothic, though may be similar to other valleys in the area. There may however be differences so for a better evaluation of the general area go to the Crested Butte Avalanche Center, which is closed until next winters avalanche season.
The Colorado Avalanche Information Center is an excellent source of state wide weather and avalanche information, though is closed until next November.
The Roaring Fork Avalanche Information Center has weather and avalanche information for the other side of the passes between Gothic and Aspen.
