Invasive Plant TechnicianThe Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory is now taking applications for an Invasive Plant Technician in 2019. We are looking for someone interested in invasive plant management and plant restoration. The employee’s duties will include: 1) assisting with ongoing experiments to control the spread of Yellow Toadflax and test revegetation methods; 2) actively managing invasive plants by manual removal and spot applications of over-the-counter herbicides; 3) assisting in revegetation efforts by transplanting plants and collecting and sowing seed to restore native plants to disturbed sites; 4) coordinating adult volunteers; and 5) using GPS equipment to map invasive plants. Part time field and lab assistant neededPhD research studying the effects of drought on insect herbivory and climate fluxes at RMBL research station compared to 25 global forest disturbances research sites. Assistant will help with litter trap set up and then conduct monthly leaf litter. Sample processing will involve scanning, drying and weighing leaf litter. All training and methods will be taught on site. No prior experience needed, just anyone passionate about the environment and science. I am looking for assistance for 20-30 hours a month during July 2019-December 2019. This job pays $10-12/hour depending on experience. Possibilities of extending for the following year.
