Docent Informational Meeting

General project description
This is a public education position educating and informing visitors and guests, including leading tours. RMBL Docents must be capable and willing to work in the Gothic Visitor Center, in the Gothic town site, or in high traffic research areas (field sites) owned and/or managed by RMBL, no matter the weather conditions. RMBL Docents will be dressed in uniform while working and will receive special perks in exchange for their time commitment.
Tasks
Docents are responsible for:
- attending the RMBL Docent Orientation and completing training modules;
- educating and informing visitors and guests, including leading tours;
- being familiar with the local roads, trails, etc. as well as the Gothic town site;

Time commitment
A minimum commitment of 40 hours served between June 27 and August 19. Each shift is at least four hours long within the 10 am-4 pm time frame.
Special requirements and things to bring (e.g. age limits, hiking/physical ability,
volunteer-provided equipment, such as binoculars)
We’re looking for volunteers ages 18 and up, excited to educate and inform RMBL visitors and guests in our visitor center and near research sites strongly impacted by visitors. Volunteers should bring what they need to be comfortable outside (e.g. water, snacks, sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, comfortable clothes and shoes, a rain jacket, etc.). This position does require training and a time commitment.
