Project Eco-STEM (Grades 6-9)

Project Eco-STEM: Monday through Friday, July 20th-24th, 2020

Daily Schedule: 9am-4:45pm (Meeting in Gothic) or 8:20am-5:10pm (Meeting at the CB 4-Way Bus Stop).

New This Year!  Project Eco-STEM will be divided into an all girls group and an all boys group that will join together for end of week student research presentations and an ice cream celebration.

Course Description:  Are you curious?  Do you like to find answers about the way things work in our world? Do you care about helping others?  Do you like solving problems?  If you said yes to any of these questions, you have a lot in common with people who work as scientists and engineers.  Project Eco-STEM is a program designed for students entering sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth grades in the fall of 2020.  Each day, we’ll meet professionals who have chosen careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) fields, and we’ll see how their work impacts the ecosystems around us. We’ll witness innovations, play with technologies, and try our hands with field research and design practices.

Be prepared for both outdoor and thinking adventures!  We’ll dive into both inquiry questions and engineering opportunities in field science settings.  As part of Project Eco-STEM, we will travel to locations outside of Gothic via the RMBL passenger van. Participants will need a signed RMBL Travel Waiver to go on these field trips.

Program Cost: $600.00 per student

Registration for this program opens each year on December 1st.
