The Visitor Center is excited to welcome the public back to RMBL in 2023 with four tour options. We look forward to seeing you in Gothic this summer!
Please Note – After a record-breaking winter, we are keeping an eye on snowmelt, trail conditions, and wildflower appearances and may need to alter tour start and end points based on these factors. Ticket sales will open on June 1st this year due to these unknowable factors.

2-Hour Gothic Campus Interpretive Wildflower Hike
Learn the names of common Wildflowers while discussing applicable Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory (RMBL) research connections and natural history with a Visitor Center staff member.
This beginner/intermediate hike is through the Gothic campus starting from the Visitor Center.
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays beginning on July 1st
8:30 – 10:30 am
Cost: $60
Ticket sales will open on June 1st, 2023.

3-Hour Snodgrass Interpretive Wildflower Hike
Learn the names of common Wildflowers while discussing applicable Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory (RMBL) research connections and natural history with a Visitor Center staff.
This intermediate hike will lead participants near the proposed Village at Mount Crested Butte, Crested Butte Land Trust Stewardship, and United States Forest Service Land. This out-and-back hike starts and ends at the Snodgrass West side trailhead off of Gothic Road.
Daily from June 20th – 30th
Wednesdays after July 1st
8:00 – 11:00 am
Cost: $70
Ticket sales will open on June 1st, 2023.

3-Hour Judd Falls Interpretive Wildflower Hike
Learn the names of common Wildflowers while discussing applicable Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory (RMBL) research connections and natural history with a Visitor Center staff.
This intermediate hike starts at the Visitor Center, goes through campus and passes by Judd Falls/401 onto Wilderness Area.
Saturdays beginning July 1st (dependent on snowmelt)
8:00 – 11:00 am
Cost: $70
Ticket sales will open on June 1st, 2023.

Daily Townsite Tours
The Visitor Center staff is offering Gothic townsite tours covering RMBL science and mining history daily from 11 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 3 pm.
No reservations are necessary unless you are bringing a larger group (exceeding 8 people). Please arrive 10 minutes before the tour starts, and we will have you sign a liability waiver.
We have a suggested donation of $20 for adults and $10 for kids (12 and under).
