Graduate Fellowship
Graduate students with their own RMBL Research Plan may apply for Fellowship support from RMBL. In 2026, RMBL expects to award approximately $25,000 in new awards; up to $12,000 in Langenheim awards for plant research and $13,000 for general research. Applications are due Feb. 13, 2026 and should be submitted via the portal. The 2026 form is posted here:
Research Fellowships for Scientists
Scientists with a RMBL Research Plan may apply for fellowship support. This program provides financial support to defer the costs of working at RMBL for scientists at the postdoctoral stage and beyond. In 2025 RMBL expects to award up to $38,000 through the Research Fellowship program. Applications are due Feb. 13, 2026 and should be submitted via the portal. The 2026 form is posted here:

Returning Student Fellowships
RMBL students who participated in the Education Program can apply for Returning student awards. Applications are due Feb. 13, 2026. The 2026 Application form is posted here. Complete the form and submit it by email to RMBL Research staff by the deadline. See the application for details. Note that the application also requires two recommenders to submit letters of recommendation by Feb. 13, 2026. Please give recommenders plenty of notice.
